Ruling political party, the All Progressive Congress, has inaugurated about 33 newly-elected state chairmen.
The event took place at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Monday.
However, the swearing-in was not devoid of tension, as aggrieved members of the party from different states insisted that some of the chairmen inducted were being imposed on the state.
Many of the state chapters of the party had factions that conducted parallel congresses at the party’s state and local government congresses, which held across the country recently.
Consequently, some of the states had produced more than one chairman.
Some of the states affected includes Oyo, Imo, Delta, Lagos, Kano, Rivers, Taraba, Bayelsa
